when lying on your back the weight of the growing foetus compresses the large vessels disturbing blood circulation the the fetus and also to the mother the mother may experience sweating, rapid heart beat, dizziness can even collapse if she does not change sides and in extreme cases fetal death may result But not all pregnant women experiences this. its called SUPINE HYPOTENSIVE SYNDROME.

The placenta can tie the unborn baby resulting to death

Yalumiya Masta Musole Mmmmm mommy.. I dont think the placenta moves its fixed until labour its only the baby that moves.. And the cord too. I think you meant the cord.. But even though you sleep on your sides nunuberry can still wrap themselves.. They play alot so they wrap and unwrap themselves.

It has advantages and disadvantages... Adva: Can reduce BP etc. Disadv: Blood will not circulate properly etc. Angela Changwe The style during sex should change obviously due to the 'load' you are carrying #Rosina

Because it stops blood circulation to go to the baby it's always best to sleep on your left or right side Rosemary Igwe But am tired of sleeping dat way cos i feel pains in both side

bt 4 me y only right bcoz whn i try 2 de other sid i dnt feel confortable, Lucy Paul But they say that we should sleep on the left side Nikki Stone Because the weight of the uterus and baby lay directly on the inferior vena cava and cut off blood supply, therefore oxygen to baby AND mommy

Zikhona Lubambo Mnyila

God is in control Melina Taylor I got told by my midwife with my first baby it’s because you don’t want the baby to be birthed spine in spine... it makes birthing a lot harder ... so to avoid that you try and sleep on your side so hopefully your baby will settle in a position so their spine is not on yours...
