I didn't get stitches in my first and even third child. I will always try to help bring my baby forth without fear. Some stiches are avoidable but due to fear u allow ur baby to weak. Another cause is over size baby. Try to minimize intake of starch and carbohydrate foods during your last trimester to avoid stitches. Gud luck and safest delivery to us all.

saying no to an episiotomy when its really needed may result in extensive tearing like a third degree tear and the tearing of the clitoris and some doctors prefer to repair a third degree tear in theatre so imagine the workload that should have been avoided by just doing an episiotomy and the pain that the patient will be going through

Melina Taylor
Not according to new studies.. they’ve actually found that it can cause what may have been a 1st or 2nd degree tear to be a 3rd or 4th...
Intervening too much whilst someone’s giving birth increases the risk of tear aswell.. ...Lihat Lainnya

so how will u prevent 3rd or 4th degree tears, labial tear and the tearing of the clitoris then if u allow the woman to tear on her own even if u c the need to cut.

Melina Taylor
You can’t prevent a tear..
but episiotomys are more likely to make them worse and cause avoidable damage to the pelvic floor... ...Lihat Lainnya

extensive tears can be prevented by doing an episiotomy when its needed and a generous one if there is a need, support the perineum, then your patient will be fine
